Mortgage Brokers (loan brokers) in Maine are licensed and regulated by the Maine Office of Consumer Credit Regulation.

Mortgage brokers attempting to obtain a Maine mortgage license are not required to maintain a physical location in the state of Maine. License applicants must provide a surety bond in the amount of $25,000. There is no net worth requirement. Two professional letters of reference are required with each application.
