Idaho Mortgage Broker Requirements
The Idaho Residential Mortgage Practices Act charges The Idaho Department of Finance with the responsibility for licensing and regulating the mortgage activities of mortgage brokers, mortgage lenders and loan originators.
Mortgage brokers attempting to obtain an Idaho mortgage license are not required to maintain a physical location in Idaho. They must register with the Idaho Secretary of State's Office. The individual in charge of each office must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in residential mortgage lending. A surety bond is required in the amount of $25,000 plus $10,000 for each additional branch. There are no education requirements and the state of Idaho does not have a mortgage license exam.
Idaho Mortgage Licensing Fees
All applicants must submit a $350 application fee.
